Most recent poll has Trump actually ahead of Hillary in the general…
I think she’s in trouble since the Bernie supporters won’t turn out for her so she will lose a lot of independent/bern dem supporters.
There are starting to be never Hillary folks now so as the weak candidate that she was, it’s looking like a bad week for her.
I also heard in the most recent poll, Trump is carrying the white female vote by 8-9%? I assume with Clinton taking 90% of the African American vote, all the females in that demographic are voting Hillary so the numbers are skewed overall?
This has been by far the most entertaining election so far.
As much as we’d like to think Trump is going to nuke our enemies and get us all nuked as well, I tend to think as a successful, wealthy, asset rich guy, he has far more to lose than his poor blue collar supporters if scorched earth events started to happen so it’s in his own best interests to have a more stable environment/country.

I find Marla and Tiffany more southern and less cosmopolitan than the other members of the family.[/quote]Marla took Tiffany back to GA (where she’s from) every summer for weeks at a time so her maternal “southern” relatives had a big influence on her. There’s nothing wrong with being a “southern belle” or a “southern gentleman.” They generally have good manners, dress and present themselves well and usually treat their own family members very well … especially if they made the effort to visit from out of state.
I realize you might be unfamiliar with that culture, FIH, but again, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.
May 19, 2016 at 7:23 PM #797772FlyerInHiGuestBG, Trump doesn’t want Hispanics to speak Spanish but his kids speak Eastern European languages Of course the southern child only speaks English.

btw, Tiffany is not “southern.” She was born in NY and raised in CA. Her MOTHER is southern. There IS a distinction.
I’ve just arranged with two friends who are Trump Supporters (a “Latino female” …. arrrgh! and a “1/2 Latino female” …. who cares?) to get two tix apiece to the Trump Rally, scheduled for Friday, May 27 at 2:00 pm at the SD Convention Center. Should be fun for the six of us “ladies,” even though we might not be in the, ahem … “right demographic” to be supporting him, lol …! The Trump campaign is allowing two tix for each e-mail address. (no signs, tripods or SLR cameras permitted)

It’s time to get “real,” Piggs, and join in the festivities …. Hello out there? They’re coming soon to YOUR front lawn!
May 19, 2016 at 9:50 PM #797777FlyerInHiGuestCome on, we know full well Trump is fueling the flames of anti Hispanic sentiments.
Watch Univision and you will see how Hispanics feel.http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/donald-trump-speak-english-spanish-820215
BG, not sure about your lady friends but there plenty of Latinas who defer to their gringo husbands, unsually if the husbands are richer. But that’s becoming less prevalent as Latinas come into their own professionally.

ALL (but me and one other) still currently have FT jobs, IF that’s what you’re driving at here. And um, HOW EXACTLY do you think ALL THESE so-called GRINGO HUSBANDS are going to vote in the general election??
Umm … one of my (100% Latino) friends has no less than 12 siblings still alive, ALL living in Chula Vista, whom they feel they have “convinced” to vote for Trump (as well as their respective families). Of course, ALL of them were born in the US (Chula Vista) to a mom who who never sought a “green card” (yes, she still lives here and is a longtime homeowner). The “kids” range in age from about 50 to 68. Believe it or not, there are many, many more like this family.
You are beyond delusional if you think otherwise.
May 20, 2016 at 12:25 AM #797789FlyerInHiGuestBG, here’s a typical gringo. Yes, I do understand the culture.
BTW, he’s married to a Latina. The wife should divorce his sorry ass.BTW, he was forced to drop his English only policy.
June 1, 2016 at 1:03 PM #798178zkParticipantOf all the very important reasons not to vote for Trump, I’m not sure why I picked this one to post. But it does seem important. Imagine our president treating other leaders/countries like this:
Whether the ignorant rabble like it or not, diplomacy is a very important aspect of being president. And Trump is, obviously, extremely weak at diplomacy.
June 1, 2016 at 5:24 PM #798186FlyerInHiGuestDiplomacy is about treating other countries equally because under law, sovereign countries are equal. Plus you want to treat others with respect.
Of course, we all know that there are de facto “superior” countries — economically, militarily and culturally (this last one is debatable). Trump supporters like it when we assert our superiority and say “f–ck you, our way or the highway.” We should treat the Trump people the same way so they get some taste of their ways.
June 1, 2016 at 9:30 PM #798187temeculaguyParticipantI’ve said it back when there were almost 20 candidates, I’ll vote for anyone but Hillary. I have a fairly diverse group of people in my world and oddly enough all of the Hispanics and all of the women I know hate her with a passion, each for their own personal reasons. Everyone under 25, including my own offspring are Bernie fans. But none of them identify as democrats, just Bernie fans. While they dislike all of the various republicans at some point, they despise Hillary.
I think this will be important, Bernie and Hillary are not two different personalities espousing the same philosophy, they are entirely different. The more i see her on television, the less I like her. And I voted for Obama twice and I love women and really want a woman to be president in my lifetime. I’m just really disappointment that the only two women to make the “final four” in recent years were Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton. I know some women personally who would be better suited for the job and these have to be two of the worst possible choices that it amazes me that people who do this for a living actually helped pick them.

I’ve heard a lot of Hillary hating over the last 24 years, and, like you said, there seem to be as many reasons as people who hate her. But most of the reasons are vague and personality-related.
Sure, the fox news-listening crowd will jump on Benghazi and the email situation and whatever else fox is peddling at that particular time. But the fox news-listening crowd is brainwashed beyond repair and they’re not my concern on this issue.
Moderates and progressives who hate Hillary concern me and, for the most part, I don’t understand them. I mean, I can see not liking her secretiveness, her focus-group-dependent positions, and her chumminess with financiers. But those shouldn’t, in my opinion, add up to the venomous, I’ll-vote-for-anyone-but-her hate that is out there. To me, that has to come down to her personality. And, (I could be wrong about this, but) it seems to me that that has a lot to do with what our society expects from a woman. I think a lot of people who hate her wouldn’t hate her if she was a man, but they don’t realize that the feelings they have toward her wouldn’t exist if she were a man. A good friend of mine, for instance. He claimed he didn’t hate Hillary because she was a woman. But when I pressed him on why he did hate her, among the things he said was, “she reminds me of Sally” (a strong, rather shrill woman that we know).
Our culture says that women shouldn’t be loud, pointy, assertive, in charge, etc. We like to think we’ve evolved beyond that, but I think that’s giving us more credit than we’ve earned. Is it possible that so many people hate Hillary because, deep down, there’s some dissonance between what we want from a woman and what we see from Hillary?
Now, temeculaguy, you’ve always seemed like a pretty enlightened, reasonable guy. I’m really curious why you hate Hillary so much. And I want you to be honest with yourself and picture her as a man and see if you hate her so much. If she held the same policy positions she does now, and had basically the same personality she does now, but was a man, would you hate her so much? Would you vow to vote for anybody but her, even if that anybody was an immature, narcissistic, ignorant lunatic who poses a real and serious threat to the safety and prosperity of this country?
Do you really think that he would be a better president than her, or are you letting some vague, primordial hatred for her get in the way of a reasonable and responsible vote?

Well played progressive liberal guilt card. Better vote for Hillary so we aren’t labeled a sexist. Anything but Trump so we aren’t labeled a racist.

Great way to avoid the question. Attack it.
June 2, 2016 at 11:31 AM #798196spdrunParticipantI dislike Hillary exactly because of her chumminess with the more destructive Wall Street elements. I’d like her to choose another loud/outspoken woman (Elizabeth Warren) as VP, then be forced to resign “due to personal reasons” a week into her term.
