On the purchase of an existing SF home in the City of San Diego how is the property transfer tax calculated and who customarily pays this tax, buyer or seller? I went to SD County Assessor’s website but could not find any info on this topic.

55 cents per $500 of valu. Tradition in SD is the seller pays it
