Okay Marion, then why don’t you send your kids to school in Chula Vista? Additionally, who are you to judge whether a way of thinking is unnacceptable?
Any parent who wants their kids to be successful wants them to go to the best schools. Poway is considered the best schools in the area. What’s your beef?
Again, elitism, not racism. Enough with the race card in regards every discussion.
December 27, 2007 at 12:17 AM #124744AnonymousGuestI can’t think of any other country in the world with “Open” borders, so why should we? Many countries are far stricter than the US (see Canada, Australia for example). I guess they are all just a bunch of racists up there in Canada since they won’t let us Americans move there.

Most illegal immigrants are underprivileged Mexicans and they came here because they don’t have access to good job and or education at home. Naturally these illegal immigrants gravitate toward more affordable areas joining other poor and less educated Americans. The best predictor of educational success of a student is his or her parent’s educational attainment. So it is not surprisingly that schools in these poorer areas fail to meet the minimum standard that many parents want.
If I have children I want them to go to the best schools I can afford. Right now these better equipped schools with good test scores happen to be in Poway or Carmel Valley areas and not in Chula Vista.
Any comment on the listing price of $579K?
