I’ll be looking for the +/- 1400 sf size SFR for myself also but am leaning towards a mtn resort area (South Lake Tahoe??). When I travel, I will just lock the door and give my cat sitter a key. Dog will go with me. Would prefer a lot of concrete or wrap-around wood deck around property, so nothing to mow and garden sprinkler system for the warm mos.
One guest room will be required for family to ski.
Who wants to load 4 toilet tissue rolls and clean four (3 unused) toilet rings and two dusty bathtubs primarily used by felines for playing tag in? NOT me. I like to keep it simple :=]

Beds/Baths: 4 / 4
Est Square Feet: 3,094 sf
PPSF: $356
Lot Size: 10,100 sf
PhotosHowever, I still think considering it’s in the flight path, over a million is a little much. But impressive house/lot. And yet, on the corner of Chatsworth, busy street. Mixed feelings on this one.[/quote]
It looks HUGE from the outside but the inside AND backyard is very well-appointed, warm and inviting. It doesn’t remind me of a cavern or airplane hanger like so many newer houses of this size (and larger) do.

February 24, 2011 at 10:35 AM #670635jstoeszParticipantS. Lake would be nice, but remember, you can buy a pretty sweet cabin off of echo summit (highway 50) for 100k (insulation is extra). I keep driving by these beauties, and I am starting to think I will by a cabin before I buy a house.
