Nostradamus, its not necessary. Its more pleasurable. As long as you enjoy the two, then there is no right or wrong answer. What I’ve learned to appreciate is food and wine that compliment each other. That means making sure that the wine doesn’t overpower the food, and vice versa. The first time you have a pairing that sings together, you’ll know. If its not a big deal to you, then its not about refined so much as unimportant to you.

You got that right about letting the huns raid the wine celler in a moment of weakness. Oh well, I’ve done more than my share of raiding theirs so its good.

It was I on the Columbia Crest Reserve 05. Still got a couple cases of them. Wished they grabbed one those instead of the 2001 Cinq Cepages.

Well it was very nice, glad you recommended it sdr! There were a few bottles left at the costco on Morena, but it was the ’06 not the ’05. Still really good though.
