The talk of Asian students pushed to suicide reminded me of the kid a year ahead of me in high school. White kid. Class valedictorian. Committed suicide when he wasn’t accepted to Harvard. Parents have been pressuring kids to succeed for a long time.

You can argue that students can succeed going to Clairemont high school all you want (and I would agree with you), but nobody will listen to you.[/quote]What’s wrong with Clairemont High? I went there. I wasn’t valedictorian and went to SDSU not ivy… but I don’t think I’m a failure.

Please make sure you don’t put words in my mouth. I never said “good with people”
In addition to creative, I said
“who knows how to get others to work hard”,
“to secure funding for a project”
“manage others ”
“social”
“friendly”
“persuasive”
“tactful”Those are all specific skills you don’t learn by tucking yourself in a corner.
I used the term “creative” not in reference to a managerial position, but as a nod to positions that are design-related instead of implementation-related.

Agree with you on this, but the fact is the DON’T have the people skills because of the focus of their education.
