Your phone number should be portable. But make sure you don’t disconnect with Cox before you sign up with somebody else. Sign up for the new service first, and the new service provider will port your number from Cox (tell the new provider you want the same number). If you disconnect with Cox first, you will probably lose your number.
I just switched from Time Warner to Uverse and then back. Both have pros and cons, and Uverse wasn’t any cheaper for the stuff I wanted.
Good call on the TV. I’m starting to think that the $700 or $800 50-inch 720p might be the way to go. What model was it and do you know if they still have the rebate?

No problem with the new TV. I wish mine would die so i would have to get a new one. Thats how I ended up with the one I have now. I was raised by depression era parents so I wear my shoes until they have holes in them and water starts leaking in. Its just a part of my DNA that I have no control over.sdr

ZK it was the TH-C50HD18, which is the Costco branded version of TH-50PX80U. This are open box floor models. Carlsbad didn’t have any actually. I very nearly bought a 42 inch Phillips 1080p at Target for $698, so I feel I got a much better unit, plus the Costco guarantee on returns and extra warranty.
Unfortunately I have to wait until Monday for my HD receiver/DVR. Wish I’d called Cox as soon as my tube fried.
Since I paid a California Tax on disposal does this mean I can take the old TV somewhere?
