Obamatons who keep bringing up Bush as a justification for Obama’s short-comings do themselves no favors. It shows a lack of critical thinking and an unwillingness to acknowledge certain facts.
By the way, W was a fighter pilot. You don’t get to be a fighter pilot without intelligence. It isn’t a position that is given to you. You have to earn it by being competent to fly.
Here is a typical question on an exam that W. had to pass. W. had to answer 60 questions like this in order to qualify for flying.
What should be the approximate elapsed time from the BOSEMAN (BZN) VOR to the DUBOIS (DBS) VORTAC if the wind is 24 knots from 260 degrees and your intended True Air Speed is 185 knots? (The magnetic variation is 17deg. E)
A. 33 minutes
B. 37 minutes
C. 39 minutesNow can you answer that question on your own? If so, maybe you’re right that W. is not an intelligent person. But the evidence proves you wrong.

That’s just the intellect part. Consider the guts one has to have to fly jets. Especially the F-103 which many considered a death trap.
Obama doesn’t even have the guts to quit smoking.

June 21, 2009 at 10:17 AM #418295Allan from FallbrookParticipantJohn: I think it was the F-106 that Dubya flew. It might have been a death trap, but it fired nuclear air-to-air missiles! That is just too cool.
I definitely wouldn’t be a good choice for that aircraft. Too much temptation.
Speaking of “Duke” Cunningham: He was a fighter ace in the F-4 Phantom and that is no small achievement, especially when going up against the more maneuverable MiG 17s, 19s and 21s that the North Vietnamese flew.
My dad worked on the Phantom project when he was at McDonnell-Douglas and he had a picture on his desk with the caption: “The F-4 Phantom: Proof that if you put big enough engines on a brick, it will fly!”.

I agree that the crazy looking bird looked like a death trap, but no one ever flew it.

He doesn’t have the guts to go against the grain and hire a Secretary of the Treasury who might do us some good. I don’t care if he smokes or not as long as he’s not smoking a crack pipe.
