If I had to bet, it would be Obama to win, and both 30 and 32 losing.

Now we can get back to discussing wine, women, and maybe once in a while housing.
And don’t forget Zombies.
Maybe Zombie politicians driving in high end cars to look at investment properties to drink wine in….November 6, 2012 at 8:42 AM #753822NotCrankyParticipantI’m shocked. My wife can not stomach voting for Obama despite the fact that she is going to be very disappointed if Romney wins.
I am just wondering what will cause the most citizens to loose their minds…snap..It seems like an Obama win would do that immediately….but if Romney wins a lot of snapping is coming a year or two down the road.
Anyone feel like the results of this one is going to make more people go nuts than other elections or is that wrong? McCain and Palin, would have been a doozie.
November 6, 2012 at 10:01 AM #753825no_such_realityParticipantIt doesn’t matter who wins, the rabid faction of the losing party is going to snap either way.
My concern is it isn’t over.
Ohio is already babbling about absentee ballots.
Broward county, once again, has voter issues in Florida.
The Northeast has last minute voting exemptions that let people vote in the wrong jurisdiction.
In other words, it’s readily possible that the winner isn’t know until next week, the week after, or maybe even… after Thanksgiving.
Let’s hope for a surprise blow-out, one way or the other.
And duck for cover if the popular vote and Electoral college don’t line up. Not sure which side would come more unhinged.
That said, this election was a colossal disappointment.
The Supreme Court is wrong, money has completely corrupted our process. Money wasn’t used as free speech. It was used has shout down by both sides, at virtually all levels. The presidential campaign just the direct fundraising by Obama, Romney spent and raised nearly as much as it cost to do the Mars Rover. What a sad waste.
Molly Munger spent $44 million on Prop 38. Her brother, with an apparent opposite political view, spent even more on 32 and 30. Aren’t you glad they didn’t just buy Assembly people and Senators. The average spent on the “hot” legislature races is $180K. Imagine what they could have done, spending twice that per race on a candidate of their chosing…

I’m sure Romney fully understands this too. Although I doubt the GOP base really comprehends this.
The majority of the GOP base will never even come close to earning more than 250k but they dream that they will be millionaires some day and when that day comes, they don’t want to be taxed!

CNN Electoral Map:

(On the right hand side, under “latest poll updates”, and elsewhere on the Huffington page…)At this point I agree, it’ll be good for this all be be over tonight/tomorrow…..
The race for the white house could be a squeaker but I think Obama has the edge. We’ll see….

The CNN map is crap. Unless you ignore the polls, the only states that are a toss-up are CO, VA, NC, FL and possibly NH. The only logical conclusions for that crappy map are:
A: CNN is dumb
B: CNN is biased
C: CNN is more concerned with making money than presenting news.A tight race means more people will watch. The polls haven’t reflected a close race in the EV count for months. It got closer a month ago. But never got close. Obama will get over 300 EV. Most likely 332.

Florida is the only State I have been in that I would choose to live if I could not make it in California. I would much rather live in say Miami than Phoenix.
And yes we need to get this over with tonight, At this point I don’t care really who wins anymore as long as somebody wins and this gets over with. And Trucks, why are they not making cheap small trucks anymore, I really need a new cheap small truck.

I propose replacing elections with auctions. Whoever pays the most wins with starting price set at the money spent for the same position in the previous election cycle. Money goes into budget and if no one bids the position is clearly not lucrative enough and should be abolished.

Well, mahindra was gonna import a truck from india. But that was scrapped.
You could look into Suzuki Equator, and probably get a pretty good discount since Suzuki has just announced (yesterday) they are officially closed it’s North America operations…And the truck is basically a rebranded Nissan Frontier, so you shouldn’t have problems getting parts/service…

But thanks for the link.

Obama to win
30 yes (sigh)
32 noNovember 6, 2012 at 4:52 PM #753849ctr70ParticipantThe Dem’s solution to every problem is taxing the “rich”. They never have any other solution to anything. People who make say over $2 million a year to me are rich, people who make $250k are not rich. They are often high earning professionals in our society who made MAJOR sacrifices in their life and did what others wouldn’t (doctors, lawyers, enteprenuers, scientists). I just can’t get behind a system who’s solution to everything is taxing these people more. I think you should be REWARDED for your success not punished for it. Most Dem’s have a very low financial IQ. I have many in my family. You start talking about anything economics related and their eyes roll up. Great example is the American public is too dumb to know that Romney pays a low tax on his income because he is FINANCIALLY INTELLIGENT. The IRS has a tax code that taxes passive income, corporation income, investment income less than w-2 earned income. Anyone in this county has the freedom to take advantage of this. I myself got out of the w-2 corporate world 10 yrs ago and started a business and operate my business as an S Corp and have created passive investment income to avoid the financial and wealth predators at the IRS. So don’t get mad a Romney for paying less in tax just for taking advantage of rules already in place to encourage risk taking and entraprenuerialism in our society. But most Dems are so busy indoctrinating themselves with the Obama save the middle class BS and whining, that they don’t take the initiative and start their own business and invest to take advantage of the U.S. tax codes. Instead dumb ass Dems just vote to tax the rich more, they are a one trick pony with NO OTHER PLAN. Same old “Robin Hood” steal from the rich BS. Robin Hood was a common crook! The only fair plan EVER was Steve Forbes 17% flat tax for all incomes.
Examples of tax changes in election:
-Prop 30 raise state income tax for people making over $250k to 10.3%
-Obama will raise taxes on qualified dividends for singles making over $200k to be taxes as Ordinary income, Romney would maintain 15% rate
-Obama care 3.8% tax on investment income, Romney would repeal Obama Care
-Obama will raise long term Cap gains tax rates to 20% for those making over $200k, Romney would not raise
