Did you try to reason with them? Tell them that, if they charge you for 8 extra days, they won’t get the keys till February 9th, so they have to push back cleaning, new showings, etc.

If nothing is mentioned, then you are entitled to leave at or before the end of the lease with no further obligation. If you are already staying there past the lease expiration, you are by your actions agreeing to stay as a tenant.
