I haven’t checked this site for months and after reading that scardey bought an accord, I feel like McKayla Maroney. Let’s hope your “mid-life crisis man with means” gene kicks in at some point before it’s too late to enjoy it.
August 13, 2012 at 5:57 PM #750225scaredyclassicParticipanti like this car.
it’s good to wait a quarter century between buying cars. you can really tell the difference between your old car and the new car. the ipod port is so amazing. listened to tom waits singing about the cold cold ground in to work this morning…
but seriously, I don’t feel middle aged. i feel kinda young and perky.
August 13, 2012 at 5:59 PM #750227spdrunParticipantYou can put a CrapplePort(tm) in any car for about $150 🙂
August 13, 2012 at 6:12 PM #750229scaredyclassicParticipanti did recently splurge on getting six (6) total garbage cans for yard waste removal. i cannot burn this crap fast enough.
i do have kind of an extravagant “gift” in mind for my 50th birthday.
I intend to discard virtually every single article of clothing I own and start over completely from scratch.
less is more.
going to keep my archimede watch though. and my carhartt jacket. and a few pair underwear.
August 13, 2012 at 6:14 PM #750231scaredyclassicParticipantin order to remove any residual trace sexiness that might have been lingering in my accord, I installed these:
the bergan car poncho.
i won’t let this car get quite as gross as the last one.
August 13, 2012 at 6:15 PM #750233scaredyclassicParticipantso, ahh, the 1989 Honda Civic is for sale. $750. Has a newish timing belt and water pump almost worth that. Comes with 30 day warranty on engine and transmission! 35 mpg.

Those are good. I need one also. Although I try to keep my dog in the back, she will jump up front at the first opportunity.
Do you have leather? Dog claws are really bad on leather.
August 14, 2012 at 7:03 AM #750255scaredyclassicParticipantcloth. but my last honda was a thin cloth without any a/c. I was too cheap to buy a/c with the car, later paid for aftermarket a/c which always sucked, then broke. I would say about 25-50 gallons of sweat soaked into the drivers seat over the decades.
That’s why i’m willing to let it go for the low low price of $750.00. And why I thinking that car pocho item is a good idea. I do have a/c now, but I am often soaked with sweat. Just a giant wet creature desperately trying to cool itself.

You could also just scotchgard the seats yourself..One can is about enough.

That’s cheap. Dude. Is it still available? If you weren’t in Temecula, I’d want buy it to chop it up and sell it for parts. Will easily fetch for 2-3x more than that in pieces. And it would be a fun project to gut the thing. Maybe I can shoehorn a small turbo I have lying around…. and turn it into something like this…
August 14, 2012 at 8:56 AM #750267briansd1GuestYou need an impermeable poncho. Or may a couple layers.
I always cover my seats when the dog rides in the car. The dog will invariably have her tail up and rub her ass against the seat. You can imagine the result of that.
August 14, 2012 at 9:03 AM #750269briansd1GuestSquat, how did you manage to ask your wife out on a date in your Civic when you first met her?
August 14, 2012 at 9:12 AM #750271spdrunParticipantAn old Civic has its uses — it separates the materialistic c**ts from the women who actually care for a guy on his own merits. She dated the person, not the car.
If she wanted to date a car, she’d be better off renting one for $30/day. A lot cheaper and better for the sanity.
