100 posts…. That’s how long I think this thread will end up being.
In the end, we still won’t have agreement on the definition of “fair share”… But I have to admit, government has done a pretty fine job at polarizing this class warfare thing.
Told ya!

That’s because they are constantly in the doctor’s office, soaking up healthcare at the expense of the rest of us.
And sure, they’re fine until their first heart attack or bout of diabetes, or when their knees give out and they need replacements.
Fat is ugly. Fat is unhealthy. Being fat is not good, therefore, it is bad, especially when it drives up healthcare costs, which it DOES.
If ObamaCare is implemented, I am going to become an advocate for the “Fat Police.” When healthcare becomes universal, YOUR health becomes MY business.
And I don’t like it when fat people eat cheeseburgers and other fatty foods. Being fat is a drain on the healthcare system as much as smoking or participating in extreme sports.
Brian? Is that you? Seriously – you’re as obnoxious as him.
You changed political stripes – but other than that – your as judgmental as the old Brian. I’m becoming convinced you’re the same guy… with the same pet issues.
LOL! I was just about to post the same thing when I saw yours! 🙂
One has to wonder if Brutus walks spritely and with elan, though.
September 27, 2012 at 6:02 PM #751975scaredyclassicParticipantno elan. sort of a heavy step. crazy conservatives are scarier than crazy liberals.

not quite the fat police, but maybe they can check your cupboards for hydrogenated fats while they’re looking for used floss as proof you flossed as required by federal law..

September 27, 2012 at 6:19 PM #751979scaredyclassicParticipantTorah Interlude….
but seriously, chesseburgers are a bad idea, for the torah commands us, do not boil a kid in its own mothers milk.
what is basically explicitly prohibited is boiling a baby cow in the milk of its own particular mother. seems liek a very easy thing to avoid. like, no one would ever do that.
how the rabbis got from that, to don’t eat cheeseburgers, is a subject that would require a lot more time than I have to understand. I was told that rabbis draw a “wide fence around the torah”, meaning they interpret the rule as broadly as humanly possible, to avoid any possible error.
interestingly, jewish law prohibits eating insects, but makes an exception for crickets, grasshoppers and locusts, which may be eaten. crickets grasshoppers locusts are kosher, but silkworms or fried waterbugs, no.

September 27, 2012 at 9:01 PM #751983scaredyclassicParticipanti just read a nice quote from a torah study book quoting the talmud sanhedrin; all rabbis should be prepared to argue that a bacon cheeseburger is kosher.
typing improves when im not drinking.

All most all people of wealth and power have on foot in globalism and are moving the other gradually out of Nationalism. Ron Paul is an exception and you see where that got him. So,yeah it does make sense to see what we get compared to the proles in other regions because it will equalize. Just a matter of a few generations. It remains to be seen if weaker hands will get to keep their property. “Middle class” is a Pavlovian lever that the rich and powerful are not yet ready to give up…kind of like “Democracy”.
Globalism is human social evolution. Nationalism is quickly becoming a smokescreen.

Very interesting post. I’ve been pondering the question of by what method America is going to keep its strong, wealthy middle class strong and wealthy in the face of globalism. I must admit that so far I’m stumped. I have to concur with the school of thought that says that, due largely to globalism, the American middle class is not really sustainable in its current form. And I agree with Blogstar that it’s only going to take a few generations.
I do wonder if nationalism will turn uglier in the face of declining wealth for certain nations.
September 29, 2012 at 4:27 AM #752033AnonymousGuestEven if you have great genes (like my brother) you can grow fat and have a heart attack. My brother had a body like a Greek God when he was 19. I did too. We were both thin and fit.
But he embarked on a life of overeating and sloth and earned his first heart attack (and quadruple bypass) when he was 55. He now takes Lipitor and has stents in his legs and heart. His bypass cost around $100,00.
I am 63 and weigh the same as I did when I was 38. I eat right. I exercise.
There’s the difference. The “genetics” argument applies to VERY few people. Most fat people eat too much and exercise too little.
It ain’t your genes making you fat.
It’s your fat mouth, blubber-butt.
September 29, 2012 at 4:31 AM #752034AnonymousGuestSpoken like a fatty. Fat fat fatty fat. You are fat.
Oh yeah? And in which issue of Playboy can we expect to see some lard-ass fat girl (with rolls of fat) posing nude for the drooling eyes of horny men everywhere?
Sure, there’s a few guys that like fat women, but they are a VERY small minority.
That’s because fat is not beautiful. Or healthy.
September 29, 2012 at 4:32 AM #752035AnonymousGuestI’d like to read more, but I have to go to the gym. Carry on!
