Too predictable. Cmon you’re smart. 13 management positions paying well over $100K to oversee 200 seasonal employees. You cant be that……..
I’ve already said that it seemed excessive. What we do not know, is what the jobs entail and if 13 people are needed for those positions. I don’t know enough about the jobs to determine that, and neither do you.
What I am opposed to is the intentionally misleading sensationalism, lies, and hyperbole (and flat-out ignorance, as has been displayed too many times to count, on this site alone) that is so rampant any time the subject of public workers is brought up.
If you were to substitute the words “this subject” for “the jobs” then it would apply to most subjects discussed on the internet. My point is that if you restricted internet commentary to only those subjects in which the commenters actually “knew enough” to intelligently discuss the issue at hand… *poof*… 90% of all commentary would disappear.

May 12, 2011 at 7:12 PM #695052paramountParticipantIn some ways this thread is hopeless. Any sensible person knows the state of california gov’t – largely or completely controlled by public employee unions – is completely out of control and the excesses we read about time and again with public employees should be criminal. It’s all sickening.
Lifeguards, city managers, teachers, cops, firefighters…the list never ends.
Reality: Unless the state defaults this problem (extreme excesses in salaries, pensions, etc…) will NEVER get fixed. What happened in Wisconsin desperately needs to happen in California. Problem is, the union machinery is so powerful it won’t.
What will happen is gov’t employees (the takers) will continue robbing the makers (private sector). Meanwhile, most makers if they are lucky will be working till the day they die.
Gov’t workers on the other hand will be retiring at 50 with 90% of their salary (and we all know how that game is played as well).
