The bummer of this is I had the TT paid off and I was more than happy w/it regardless of how old it was. I worked so hard to pay it off. I was the second owner and it was taken care of. Now I had extra money every month going into the piggy bank for the house. I don’t really want car payments. But realistically, if I want a nice car again, that’s what’s going to happen. And I should be practical and just get any old car and stash the cash for a house. So the struggle going on in my head and emotions. I came across this one: Boxster S It’s over my 30k limit, but looks sweet.

April 2, 2010 at 7:36 PM #534930DataAgentParticipant“Hey….I have to ask…Did you ever meet runaway prius driver James Sikes at any meetups ? :)”
flu…
Good memory. Lots of people from all over the world noticed Jim Sikes wearing our Corvette club jacket. We’ve gotten calls from as far away as Japan asking “so what’s this guy Sikes really like?”Unfortunately Jim Sikes is not a current member of our Corvette club and has not been active with us for a number of years. Personally, I don’t know the guy at all.

jpinpb,
I’d offer to sell you my slightly souped up audi but friends don’t let friends buy used audi’s…
On a more serious note… I’m sure you already considered it, but if not…Have you considered a lease? Normally, I wouldn’t suggest it…But I vaguely remember you said you were self-employed..If that’s the case, perhaps a lease would work out for you if you could write off part of it.
Judging by your tastes, I don’t think you would be happy with something korean or japanese, and while you are slightly warmed up to domestic, I think in the end, deep down inside you really still want something german. A 3-4 year lease on a something german would basically cover you until just about the time the warranty runs out and things start to cost $$$ to fix…Also, some of these german cars like bimmers include 4 years of maintanance. If you could write off the expense, it might end up working out for you. Just a thought.
