You misunderstood.
* I called all of us fools – that includes me.
* I disagree with your presumption of what is biased and what isn’t.
* I didn’t ask you to respond without bias. I just said that you are as biased as all the rest.
* I am suspicious of people who label other comments as being “race card”, “biased”, “knee jerk”, and so on.
* Everything is of questionable merit.
* I said you were a fool IF you believed that you’re able to somehow free yourself of bias. I didn’t actually call you a fool. So, again, in my opinion…I expect more of you, if you’re going to start to try to delineate which posts are “valid” and “invalid” based on “ethnic bias” you have a long way to go to even state your case, much less prove it.
I like participating in the discussion, it is not above me. Like you, I just jumped in. I wanted to challenge you not to assume that marion didn’t have a point, just because she wasn’t stating it so well. Doesn’t it strike you as *possible* that you’re the one doing a “knee jerk” by assuming that outrage is emotional and therefore not valid?

White people (and other races) are going to feel more comfortable voting for a black man who has taken a stand against the unsavory aspects of the black community.

Nostradamus made a statement about Obama distancing himself from the “unsavory” behavior of blacks.
Those two statements are quite different. It is very clear that she is so biased she’ll go as far as twisting my words to make sure I appear to be what she thinks I am.
I agree that bias exists everywhere and to deny it is foolish. Look at marion, for example: she feels the need to point out that she’s a black woman which seems to entitle her to be offended (like white people aren’t allowed to be offended or something). I don’t see many other posters here pointing out their race, gender, ethnicity, whatever. “I’m of X ethnicity therefore I’m offended” absolutely is using “the race card” by definition.
About the nefarious N-word: if quoting someone else who was mimicking what a southern, white racist might say is offensive, the offended party is being emotional and not logical. Being automatically offended by a word regardless of the context gives that word more power. I’m sure there are plenty of racists out there who are very happy to know there is such a powerful word they can use to auto-offend the subjects of their hatred.
These people seem perfectly capable of discussing the word without offense. I was surprised to hear about Martin Luther King’s use of the word. This is the type of discussion I was looking for, I’m not baiting anyone and I really don’t like reading or replying to marion (yes this is bias) so why would I bait her?
My original intention is to point out and discuss the fact that Obama distancing himself from Jesse Jackson, Rev. Wright, et. al. is, IMO, good for the Obama campaign in that it will surely get him more white votes. Since whites are the majority in this country (even more so in voter turnout) then this is a smart strategy. Now… discuss!

I’m sorry, but it does. I stated I was black, Nostradamus called me a liar by responding:
Nostradamus: Weren’t you posting a picture of a skinny white leg with black boot, saying it was yours?
AGAIN, if someone cannot understand the concept, fact that “black” people come in varying shades, then they are racist, or f*cking STUPID. And that’s not debatable, Allan.
And tomoeDave is right. You’re acting very self-righteous, Allan. What makes you the authority on what’s “valid”? And anytime someone calls you out on your behavior, you think you’re being disrespected and attacked, and then you call them out to a fight.
