If Obama wins it would be California gone national…
If you have not noticed they are socializing the finance industry as I write this. At least democrats are slightly more honest about their socialism, meaning they kick a little down to the little guy.
The right just socializes the wealthy’s losses and there is no redistribution of wealth. The right’s mantra about personal responsibility really means protecting the wealthy few against the avarice and vicious greed of the poor is righteous and necessary. Ironically, Palin will coalesce the white poor and religious and have them vote for people that are diametrically opposed to their personal well being using religion and race to “get out the vote”. This group has has more effect on the American ethos than any other and the right has mastered their manipulation. Here is a rundown of their beliefs:
-Belief that no law is above God’s law, not even the US Constitution.
-Hyper patriotism. A fighting defence of native land, home and heart, even when it is not actually threatened: ie, Iraq, Panama, Grenada, Somalia, Cuba, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Haiti and dozens more with righteous operations titles such as Enduring Freedom, Restore Hope, and Just Cause.
-A love of guns and tremendous respect for the warrior ideal. Along with this comes a strong sense of fealty and loyalty. Fealty to wartime leaders, whether it be FDR or George Bush.
-Self effacement, humility. They are usually the butt of our own jokes, in an effort not to appear aloof among one another.
-Belief that most things outside our own community and nation are inferior and threatening, that the world is jealous of the American lifestyle.
-Personal pride in equality. No man, however rich or powerful, is better than me.
-Perseverance and belief in hard work. If a man or a family is poor, it is because they did not work hard enough. God rewards those who work hard enough. So does the American system.
-The only free country in the world is the United States, and the only reason we ever go to war is to protect that freedom. What I find increasingly laughable is the ever so minor differences between the two candidates and each sides supporters vehemently defense of each as if there are any big differences besides packaging.
America is ruled by organized interest groups with money to elect candidates who serve their interests. Period.
You wear a dunce cap if you vote in the two-party system. They aint working for us.

September 9, 2008 at 8:48 AM #268129svelteParticipantBoy I go away for a few days and this place goes nuts for McCain/Palin!
equalizer, you chose to quote the statistic that was the most generous to your apparent favorite, McCain. Other less favorable quotes:
McCain leads Democrat Barack Obama by 50%-46% among registered voters, the Republican’s biggest advantage since January and a turnaround from the USA TODAY poll taken just before the convention opened in St. Paul. Then, he lagged by 7 percentage points.
However, in an analysis of the impact of political conventions since 1960, Sabato concluded that post-convention polls signal the election’s outcome only about half the time. “You could flip a coin and be about as predictive,” he says. “It is really surprising how quickly convention memories fade.”
Let’s see where we stand when the debates start hitting in October.
One thing for sure: Palin helped McCain!

Hilarious. And yes, I am white… and wouldn’t really move to Canada. I love the US too much, and it’s too ingrained in my identity, having descended from pre-Civil War Irish-English stock, but you get my point. I’m tired of semi-literate bible-thumpers running the country into the ground.
Those bible-thumpers aren’t running California, then how do you explain California?
If Obama wins it would be California gone national…
Lucky In OC
I agree! All you have to do is look at California to see what socialism does to an economy.
