OT: IPO’s in far east versus here in the U.S. compare/contrast

This is my sense of irony…..

In China,
*a lot of their high speed rails projects are almost complete.
*BYD (auto manufacturer) is about ready for an IPO.

In Korea,
*Samsung is about to overtake Nokia and be the larger cell phone manufacturer.

In Taiwan,
*HTC has pretty much grabbed the high end phone market from was then Motorola.
*MediaTek is on a roll.

In the U.S,
What are the bankers pitching this year with valuations in the billions?
LinkedIn, Pandora, Groupon, Zygna…..
What the hell is wrong with this country? Don’t we produce anything concrete anymore????
