I think Obama just got the luckiest break ever believe it or not, it’s like Bill Clinton coming in after the first Bush had to deal with the Defense shut down, And Not like the Second Bush just happening to come into office right as the Dot.com bubble burst (but somehow he did keep this housing bubble going a hell of a lot further than I could ever image it could have gone, almost made it, just about 1.5 years short) (just kidding there).
I figure all Obama has to do is not screw the pooch and in four years it bound to look a hell of a lot better or that we are on our way out of this mess (with just a little luck).
But I am an optimist by nature,
hey that nail put a hole in my tire but at least I did not step on it !!!

business is to reduce the burden on private income and the deterrence to
private initiative which are imposed by our tax system, and this
administration pledged itself last summer to an across-the-board,

and become effective in 1963.”

[President John F. Kennedy]January 20, 2009 at 7:18 PM #332479Allan from FallbrookParticipantArraya: Northern Paraguay, huh? I’d pick Argentina, personally. I’d say Brazil, but I don’t think Bush would be very welcome there.
Aecetia: I think one thing that Obama and JFK share is their oratorical ability. I’ve heard that Obama has spent time studying FDR’s “Fireside Chats” and his speech today riffed on some of FDR’s themes (and JFK’s, too, but retooled for modern realities).
As a conservative Republican, I wish him well and wish him luck. It’s kind of hard to tout my party’s fiscal conservatism when confronted by the profligacy of the Bush era.
