ParticipantThe coast is clear. Few bees buzzing around. He said they will dissipate in a few days. If not, he will come back free of charge. And I did get a jar of honey. But I think if this happens again they are getting sprayed with water or maybe smoke them away.

ParticipantHow do you know they’re not africanized (killer) bees? Most bees in SD county now are africanized, and I believe it takes an expert to tell the difference. Be careful not to anger them or you may get swarmed.

ParticipantI don’t know how I knew. I guess I wasn’t 100 percent sure. But the bee guy confirmed it. He made it seem too easy. Clipped the branch and dropped them in a box. Another reason I didn’t want to kill them. The Africanized are taking over and I think they are hurting the honey bees. Funny but they just did a story on the news about bees. Some lady’s next-door neighbor’s abandoned house in Northern California somewhere had so many bees they had honeycombs forming!
