I’m quite confused how “media attention and scrutiny” = “what are liberals afraid of?”

this is the type of media attention and scrutiny along the line of Michael Jackson’s passing.

Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon got about a day of media attention compared to Jackson. So are the liberals MORE AFRAID of Jackson?

That always attracts attention…from the media and from humans in general. The media is just searching out more of her weirdness – you view it as “discrediting” her.
