Believe me I like the idea of buying the stripped houses… but buying the stuff from the stripped houses…well that feels a little “Katrinaesque”, if you know what I mean. I am sure if people do respond we will get a mix of takes on the issues.
Feel free to post some more music links on this thread Hawk.It is Friday after all.
Good luck with your offer. Your strategies and timing seem real smart to me. You will get a good deal by the end of the year or sometime next year, if you don’t get this one, and you try again a time or a few. 15% under list right?

May 30, 2008 at 10:19 AM #214080NotCrankyParticipant” you probably need to check out the construction quality of the cabinets. Some cabinets really are one time install use. If you try to dismantle stuff and hang them back up, the particle board crap of some of these cabinets end up disintegrating.”
I am up on this. halfway decent modular ones should be O.K.
Since the kitchen is going to be small I could cull a few. Hopefully I could find good cabinets and a light weight install. Taking out tile could be a pain. But why would people be tearing apart a perfectly good kitchen?LOL

May 30, 2008 at 10:42 AM #214095meadandaleParticipant“What are ethics?”
Buying something that somebody is ‘stealing’ from the house that is being repossessed from them is akin to buying stereo equipment that some guy is selling out of the trunk of his car in the Walmart parking lot.
It says alot about our society when a) we have this kind of thing going on and b) people seem to think it’s ok as long as they can profit from it.
Weren’t there a couple of posts recently about people who were being paid to turn in their keys without doing any damage to the property? Now some of you are condoning the very behavior that these programs were trying to prevent because you can profit from it? Isn’t that personal greed what got us into this mess in the first place?
Color me disgusted at both the people placing the ads and the people buying their shit.
