And the democrats need the Republicans’ OK on programs why?? They have veto-proof majorities in Congress and own the white house but refuse to flex that muscle. 80+% of Americans are happy with their current health care plans. But we MUST change the plans. Cash for clunkers pulled demand forward and Sept. auto sales were so low that Chrysler & GM may need to file BK. You’re right though. Obama wants things done “regardless of merit”. Next time you’re at the Post Office think about how that “Hope” & Change” is working out for you. Or ask our boys in Afghanastan.

No the Fringe conservatives running the GOP are.[/quote]
Pat: So, we have a frothing at the mouth Leftist like you castigating the frothing at the mouth idiots in the GOP.
Huh. See the humor and irony in that? Probably not. Not from “Mr. Logical”, who throws accusations out with no supporting evidence or facts, but is quick to demonize his opponents for the same failings.
Let’s see: Smear others without cause or facts. Check. Resort to baseless attacks and ad hominem undercutting of those opponents who don’t think and act as you do. Check. Tar “The Other” with the brush of racism and bigotry while practicing it yourself. Check.
I wonder, Pat, when you look in the mirror, do you see Rush Limbaugh or Michael Moore? All the empty rhetoric, polemic and vitriol spewing from mental midgets like Rush, and Hannity, and Beck, is exactly the same coming from the fringe element of the Democratic Party you hold so dear, too.
Wake up and smell the propaganda, tool (and that’s not meant as an insult, but rather a pointed reference to how dear old Vladimir Ilyich would view you). Yeah, you’ll need to look that last bit up.

October 3, 2009 at 10:39 PM #463461CardiffBaseballParticipantHonestly I could care less where they are held the Olympics are just not that compelling to me. I do get to watch some events like swimming or gymnastics once every four years, and those are good TV. I like the sprint events in track and some good basketball, but otherwise I can watch that stuff originating from Rio just as easily.
Nothing captures my attention as far as TV sports as a long Saturday watching great college football games. As long as those don’t get exported or outsourced I’m cool. So while I am not going to stomp on the Obama/Oprah contingent, it was a FAIL, and I don’t care. I won’t hold it against them.
Also in general I think it’s fair to say the Brazilians wanted it more, and given that they’ve never hosted one in SA, good for them.
