Car dealers are pretty strapped these days. In June, I got a 2008 Mazda6 (4800 miles) for $16,500 out the door. If you are paying cash, I think that will help.

January 19, 2009 at 11:01 PM #331461sdduuuudeParticipantWell, I’ve been doing some shopping. I drove a Mazda3 and asked alot of people about it. All reports are good. My truck has a 4.0L V-6 so I definitely noticed it was underpowered but I’m not looking for power and I liked it alot.
I found the only 2008 Mazda3 in the county. It’s pretty cheap. I’m considering keeping the truck and getting that Mazda3.
Also looking at used Infinity G35s. They seem nice. Haven’t looked into the RSX yet. A buddy is trying to talk me into a V6 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab. But it’s a Chevy and that’s a tough sell for me.
Gas mileage realy sucks on the Toyota Crew Cabs pickups. Same buddy says “why can’t Toyota build a fuel efficient truck?” I don’t know the answer.
One of the noises on my truck that I thought was expensive turns out not to be so bad, so if I can fix that clakety lifter, I may be able to sqeeze a few more months out of it. Since I found that out, my craiglist surfing slowed down quite a bit.
My next step is to take the truck in and see how much life the mechanic thinks it has left. Still, it’s like housing – the longer I can hold out, the better deal I’ll get.
I have heard good things about Hyundai. Anyone ? Anyone ?
