Time is valuable
From Lowe’s:
We guarantee our everyday competitive prices. If you find a lower everyday price on an identical item at a local retail competitor, just bring us the competitor’s current ad and we’ll beat their price by 10%. If a competitor is offering a percent off discount, we’ll reduce our current price by the same percentage discount that the competitor is offering.

Interesting to know that they will price match + 10%. Now if I could find a cheaper place locally to get them to PM to that would be great :).

The guy bought it 6 months ago for $800 and was unloading a lot of stuff because he was moving to the east coast.
I’ve seen some pretty nasty grills on craigslist but if you can find one like this that had super light use its worth it.January 3, 2012 at 9:59 AM #735344SmellsFeeshyParticipantYeah I know it’s possible to find a great deal on craigslist but I was looking for pretty specific features and size, also I needed something that was not pre-assembled as I don’t have a truck or SUV to transport it.
I ended up buying a Char-Broil 2-burner RED Infrared grill from Home Depot. I really wanted the infrared technology since I grill a lot of steaks. I just couldn’t justify the price for the Weber, especially since only the high end models have the sear burner feature. Also the size of the Genesis was just too big for a two person household.
January 3, 2012 at 5:15 PM #735356masayakoParticipantI bought my weber at Amazon $699. Free shipping. Arrived in 2 days. Wonderful grill.
January 3, 2012 at 6:09 PM #735359ljinvestorParticipantChar-Broil performs fine, but make sure you keep it clean & covered or it will rust. Like the Weber because the SS holds up really well.
January 3, 2012 at 8:19 PM #735362moneymakerParticipantThe best advice I can give when shopping for a grill is to take a magnet with you. Anything that the magnet sticks to, just imagine it rusted because that’s what it will be in a couple of years. The grill I bought from Costco (don’t remember the brand) only had ferromagnetic metal in a ring going around the control knobs. So far after around 5 years that is the only part showing any signs of wear.
January 3, 2012 at 8:24 PM #735365PCinSDGuestSomeone posted a link to this site a few years back. I just did a word search for “grills”.

A few grills, including the Weber Genesis.
January 3, 2012 at 8:24 PM #735366sdrealtorParticipantI have had a char broil RED for almost a year and love it. It gets plenty hot to sear steaks . I also use a pizza stone to make brick oven type pizzas on it with much success. Enjoy!
January 4, 2012 at 4:07 PM #735418GeedupParticipantI bought a Big Green Egg off of Craigslist for cheap about a year ago. Nothing cooks like it. I cooked ribs on it slow and low last night. It’s a cult following but once you become an egg head you never can go back to propane or natural gas.
