You can also try
With http://www.yousendit.com, you can send a large file to one or more recipients using ’email’. It’s not really email but that’s what it looks to the recipient…
Btw, try to avoid emailing multiple file attachments to people. Nothing bugs me more than getting an email with 10 pictures or files. There are services like docs.google.com, Dropbox, Mobileme and etc to send files.
BTW, do you back up your PC? Can you survive if it got stolen tonight? My guess is you will answer no.

One comment on this and in general.. Are you folks actually sending documents with PII through email??? If you have things like SSN or CC#s, Account#’s make sure they are scratched off or something. You don’t want it cached somewhere on an email server or some website…
