There are also free programs you can download on the net that allow you to “print” a document as a pdf file. I do it all the time using Bullzip pdf printer.

It varies depending on the email provider. You shouldn’t have a need to go over 5mb if it’s just a few documents. That’s why I said you should lower your scan resolution and check the final size of the image. If you’re doing 1200×1200 color, you’re looking at a very big file for one image. If your doing 300×300 b&w or grayscale, it’s considerably smaller.
