No. $150/day at Newark, reservation within a few hours, and returning in a different city. If it were $15/day, I’re rent a nicer car.
The day before, it was about $110/day but I wasn’t sure I’d fly into Newark.
And that’s with 10% AAA discount.
I find that in TX and FL, car rentals are much cheaper. NY area airports are most expensive and the taxes are high.

The price I got on hotwire was for a few hour reservation, but not returning in a different city.
