TG: Your right, I have a relatively small house payment, a San Diego salary and we live pretty good.
On the other hand, when the low lifes get foreclosed on they are often followed by renters, not that all renters are bad, but it is easier to rent than to buy.
Of course for people who might move to Temecula from CV, 4S and other similar areas it might be a culture shock. Let’s face it Temecula has more than it’s fair share of rednecks (sorry if I offended anyone)…

My old haunt and if I remember yours as well “Valencia” has come down dramatically the last few months , prices there are about the same as the T.V. these days, But at the same time I have heard that L.A. has actually seen price increases the last three months which does not sound right from what I have been seeing at least in Valencia.
Anyway talk about half off, a few buddies have gotten at least 75% off on a few older rental/cash flow type places in T.V. ,
I still say we are close to being over the hump in this recession and things should be getting better soon.

That small Chinese Battery/Auto manufacture Warren Buffett invested in (BYD) is quickly becoming a big time player in Auto’s, selling a electric car in china and now Europe (has small gas motor but is just as a back-up in case you need to go further than the 65 mile range), they sell them for about 22K or about half of what GM and Toyota plan on selling theirs for in 2010.
They are working on a new (low cost fast charging long lasting) battery tech they claim will revolutionize the energy industry (we will see).
