Guest
But the effects of alcohol withdrawal on the liver are also horrible, delirium tremens.
I always say alcoholics are good people w/a bad problem.
I just did a quick search on delirium tremens. It seems like this persons suffers from this condition. His job is not a regular 5 days a week job. He will work for days and then have days off. I think that allows him to mask his alcohol addiction.

ParticipantAlcoholics who are able to function in society are less likely to admit they have a problem. I’m sorry for your friend. I hope you are a little more sympathetic towards him and understand that it is a disease. I’ve unfortunately had experience w/alcoholics in the past. It was like being w/Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. Very difficult to watch the self-destruction. Makes you feel helpless b/c you feel like you need to do something and try to fix them. Trust me, though, that unless they want help, be prepared to let them fall.

Participant
. . . I’m into sangria lately. It seems like a good thing to do for cheap wine
scaredy, you had to mention this . . . lol. After the new year I had to give up even on wine coolers (thinned down box wine w/soda water) due to finances. Hopefully, I’ll be able to “resume” in a few months when some big expenses are out of the way. So far, I’m doing fine drinking iced tea and club soda w/lime :=P
But I could easily become addicted to wine coolers again :=!
