Thanks SDE. I was just throwing out 100 light years to say “it’s far”. Alpha Centauri is 4.35 light years away but according to what I just read nobody knows whether there are planets there… While a sun is the center of a solar system what I meant was a system with planets.
Anyhoo with the rest of your post I think we are in agreement. Did you watch the monkeys vid???
I think that, like many religions, people believe in things they cannot disprove. I choose to believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster but haven’t decided whether his noodly holiness is an alien or not. I just have to have faith.

July 24, 2008 at 4:14 PM #2462974plexownerParticipantSDEngineer – have you ever considered the vast capabilities of the human mind that are as-yet undiscovered / unresearched?
The average human is using 10% of his brain – what’s up with the other 90%?
Uri Geller?
pre-cognition?
To dismiss the para-normal (only called that because we don’t understand it yet) out-of-hand is rather small-minded IMO

Not true.

Check out the “common misconceptions” part… They even mention that the common misconception that we only use 10% of our brain is “perpetuated by new-age medicine proponents”.
That 90% thing also makes great Hollywood film plots!
