So if you are really going to be thorough about then you put yourself in the baby’s position too. At least consider it’s feelings after it becomes viable. And if you still adhere to the concept of “do unto others…” or in those great song/words “what if it were youuuuuuuuu..?” then you ask what would I rather have done to me? Would I rather have a major choice taken away or have every choice I will ever make taken away via my very life? [/quote]A fetus is not a baby because it’s not been born yet and it can’t have any feelings or even a conscience.
It’s an “it” for a reason. It’s not a “he” or a “she”.
If I had been aborted, then I wouldn’t know any better so it wouldn’t matter to me. I would have been in heaven already and I would have been spared life on earth.
It’s interesting that me the cons are against abortion but support the death penalty and war.
All of the above is besides the point though. Abortion is legal. Women who want to have abortions should be able to do so without being harassed. Doctors who want to open legal businesses should not be intimidated by acts of terrorism.
If you don’t like the law, try to change it. But leave law abiding citizens alone. Stop heckling and harassing them and leave them to do their daily business in peace.

ParticipantBrian: So, no God, huh? I’m curious, though. Do you deny the existence of God, or are you just a non-believer?

GuestI think that religion is good in that it gives people hope and motivation to carry on and to do good.
Hope comes on different levels. The hope to go heaven in the afterlife, or, more immediately, the hope that a Black president will bring about more social justice and peace in the world.
That’s not to say that a Black president is more qualified than a White president. But a Black president’s experiences during his lifetime may give him more empathy and allow him to discern what a White president missed all along.
Sorry, I still don’t have empathy for a fetus. I have empathy for the feelings of religious people and I have empathy for what drives them. But I don’t support their illegal acts of civil disobedience and intimidation of fellow citizens who support the legal business of abortion.
Me, I don’t need God for hope and motivation. But I’m glad that God is there for others.
I don’t deny that God exists. He may or may not. I don’t care.
The evidence, so far, indicates that God as defined in the Bible does not exit.
I don’t have much faith in the existence of God.
There can be many definitions of “God”. I think that the universe is God. It’s more mysterious and awesome than any earthly religion, in my view. I believe in “from dust to dust.”
I don’t need religious people to save me. If I end up in hell, then I would have well deserved it.
