Actually, it is a myth that “Hotel California” was located in “Cabo,” which was debunked by Henley himself.
For years, day-trippers coming from Los Cabos to Todos Santos have flocked to the Hotel California, hoping to see “mirrors on the ceilings and pink champagne on ice.” Don Henley burst that bubble a while back when he denied any connection between the Eagles and the hotel.

My kids can fix me up with all kinds of music as they have big ipods completely full. But I don’t want any of it (exc John Mayer’s Battle Studies). I’ll just continue to listen to my “fuddy-duddy” music of all the best tenors that ever lived. I’ve since added San Diego tenor Adam Lambert to the mix as his talent is up there with the best of them!
I’m noticing that when it is announced that an “aging rocker or rock band” will be performing in one of SD’s large venues, the concert is sold out the same day the tix go on sale. Imagine that!
There must be a lot of us “fuddy-duddies” still kicking that make up a HUGE fan base for “fuddy-duddy rockers.” These concerts are like a giant “boomer reunion” with a few assorted kids/grandkids mixed in (for cultural immersion purposes), lol :=]

April 20, 2011 at 5:06 PM #688055urbanrealtorParticipant
You fuddy duddies need to listen to newer music. I vote for Californication by the Chili Peppers. The real Hotel California isny even in the US its down near Cabo anyway
I have met you in person and spoken to you on the phone.
You are a first-class agent (and I don’t say that lightly).
You also have good wine taste (though you seldom mention Consilience Red Zin). However, a musical trend spotter or listener of refined tastes, you are most certainly not.
And yes BG needs to take her dentures out of the water and get some better music.
If you need me, I will be listening to a mix of:
VNV Nation: Chrome
Big Black: sawed off shotgun
Devo: Mongoloid
White Stripes: Seven-nation army
Johnny Cash: The man comes around
Iggy Pop: I wanna be your dog
Misfits: Nike a go go
Gnarls Barkley: Gone Daddy Gone
Social Distortion: Cold Feelings
Pere Uhu: Final Solution
Concrete blonde: Vampire song
Velvet underground: Heroin
Alabama 3: Woke up this morning (acoustic)
Dead Kennedys: California Uber Alles (Reagan version)
Metallica: Blackened
Desmond Dekker: You can get it if you really want it
Skatalites: Guns of Navarone
Lo Fidelity Allstars: Battleflag
Ramones: Pet Sematary
Flogging Molly: Whats left of the flag
Interpol: Evil
Duran Duran: Hungry like the wolf
Guns n Roses: Night Train
Operation Ivy: Sound System
Green Day: Christie Road
The Cramps: Garbage Man.I think any of these songs would go nicely as our theme for the state.
