Nesposito,
Just a random question from a guy who is no where near where you are in life.
What does your biological clock have to do with buying a house?
I have no urge to even try to stop you from buying now. Its your money, do what you want to do. But I would like to understand the motivation that you cite as the reason to buy now. It is not unique, even if I dont understand it. You seem to hint that you think buying a house now is better for your family. How? You dont say you are pregnant, so the baby needs a room thing can be put off atleast 6-9 months, which would put you in a much better time to buy. You dont have kids, so schools are irrelivant for the next 5-6 years. You have a stable job with high incomes, so renting some place really nice isnt a problem.
I guess what I come down to is that I see very little forcing you to buy in the next 6 months Minimum. (may be wrong). Wouldnt you rather put that 30-50k away into your kids college education? Just trying to understand.

new house hunterin brief to answer your questions…some medical issues, some family issues (sister in law moving in with us), new job moving me up to work in San marcos in August while hubby will still be working in Hillcrest. Encinitas would be central and my husbands loves that area. I don’t want to move or house hunt while pregnant because of my medical issues.
Everyone has there on reasons…for me its a quality of life issue. In medicine, every day I am faced with trying to understand other people’s values and priorities because it effects their health related behaviors. They often differ from mine considerably, I do the same thing you did, I ask more to understand- thank-you I appreciate your thoughtfulness. I hope some of my answer above helps you understand my priorities but i didn’t want to spill my guts too much on the forum…..rest assured if you still don’t understand I could do on for pages with more details of the whole things…

Don’t feel like you owe anyone an answer around here. The decision is yours alone and it appears you are aware of the risks/trade-offs and prepared to deal with them. Encinitas is a wonderful community and one I have enjoyed for many years. It is one of the rare parts of SD County with a real sense of community. Long term this area only will get better. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family and I have. It is truly paradise on earth to me.sdr
