More Carmel Valley Questions / Group Land Purchase

So, what’s to keep a handful of well organized Piggs from picking up a big chunk of land from a builder in 2010, subdividing it amongst ourselves and building our own houses on it?

Granted, it is a bit of an organizational challenge, and there are a wide variety of preferences to sort out, but I think it is doable.

I have organized group purchases in the past for things like kayaks and power supplies. Why not land? In troubled times, that’s the time to buy and even better to buy in bulk from builders in trouble.

In other words – lets circle the wagons! I mean vultures !

There’s a bunch of land in CV bordered by Hwy 56 to the North, Carmel Country Rd to the East, Carmel Mt. Rd to the South and El Camino Real to the West.

Anyone know what it is? How to buy there. Is it protected? Is it all builder-owned? There’s some really neat houses just West of Carmel Country Road near Grand Del Mar way. These were definitely not put there by developers. How did they get there ?

Can we get our little Piggy hands on it ?

Also – if anyone has a chance to dig up any info on the lot for sale at 4670 Sun Valley Rd, I’d really appreciate it. When and why was the house torn down? Was it condemned? Did someone run out of money on a tear-down and rebuild? Was it purchased with the house or without ? Is it really worth $1.6M ?
