I jog downtown a lot along the harbor and I have noticed that since late last summer there have been at least two megayachts visiting SD Harbor. Both have helicopters on board, and one is so large that it has another smaller yacht (at least a 40 footer) painted the same green color that travels with it. These boats are so enormous that they can’t fit in any of the slips and have to put in over by the big Hornblower tourist ships. They make the $10M yachts in our yacht dealerships here look like little matchbox toys. Has anyone else seen these? What is most interesting to me is that they began appearing in August, just before the stock market collapsed. I have lived downtown for years and I have never seen these before. They look like something a Saudi prince might own. Does anyone know what’s up with these boats? I wonder if Bernie “Made-off With Your Money” owns one…
