I would love to find a sweet deal on a low mileage 1-2 year old Lexus SC430 convertible! An absolute gem of a car with the hard top for year round driving and summertime drop top pleasure. New these go for almost 80k so used maybe 30k would be nice ride for major discount. But its sad that Mercedes has produced crap the last few years. I like the SL550 and maybe Mercedes will bring quality control back into their cars again.[/quote]You should be able to haggle a ’05 SC430 under 30K. But, with only 300 hp to move its overweight 3840 lb body, it’s gotta be rather sluggish.
The most fun to be had with an open roof for a reasonable amount of money is in a lightly preowned C6 Corvette.

“Lexus Dealers in North County face hard times”
North County Gazette
March 14, 2009
Mark Stennis – Staff WriterA shiny new Lexus automobile was once the badge of distinction for Realtors, it said, “I’m in the $10 million dollar club now and I’m marvelous!”. Those days may never be seen again as inventory of new Lexus autos at local dealers continue to languish on lots. A number of local North County Lexus Dealers are now teetering on financial collapse. There are even talk of Lexus exiting the US market due to the protracted downturn.
Toshi Yamamoto VP of US Operations of Lexus USA lamented at last Tuesday’s North County business roundtable in Escondido, “We are in very very bad place, this reminds me of the beginning of the lost decade in Japan. I am very very nervous”, his nervousness was evident as he was clutching his Hello Kitty ™ doll. He went on to say “It is my daughter’s Hello Kitty, she will like, ha ha”.March 14, 2009 at 11:42 PM #366569NewtoSanDiegoGuestHere’s an update to the article in yesterday’s North County Gazette

Our populace didn’t save nearly as much as the Japanese. We’ll print, spook the foreigners, then deflate some more.
