Thanks everyone for your reply. Your insight is very helpful.
We have been looking around for about a year now and haven’t found a house we like and in our price range. With this economic situation we may need to wait for years. Moving really sucks with school age kids. Last time it took us 4 offers to find this rental place.
Let’s say we are going to buy this rental place, what are the possible hassles ? Once the house is on the market, potential buyers can stop by any time to take a look at this place, right? Another thing is if somebody else buy this place or the landlord may go to foreclosure. We still end up moving.

c’mon.. let’s not get drastic here. If you have a living room set, kitchen stuff, kids, toys, bedrooms, it’ll be a pain no matter how you “pare down”
