Maybe our new economic team is trying to whipsaw the real estate market in an attempt to frustrate efforts to make rational long-term decisions. That’ll reduce the decision-making process to greed and fear, which should restore the previous market conditions that we all know and love π

As crazy as it may seem to beleive, it is as hard to buy a house today in SD as it was in early 2004 at the peak of the frenzy with multiple offers. It is hard because the inventory is ugly, the banks are involved in most seller decisions, the banks are slow creating multiple offers over time, its tough to get a loan etc. etc. Buyers are very frustrated. they have waited for their time to arrive but never imagined that his is what it would look like when that happened. Not that this is necessarily your time yet but be prepared for a very challenging time when buying a home any time in the next several years. It aint pretty……
