Considering Software Engineers with 10 years experience are being offered $70k salaries these days I think paying that to a high school teachers is ludicrous, it should be more like $30k considering it is only for 9 months of work.
You’re joking, right? The guy probably has a master’s degree, 10 years experience, is doing hard & important work in an in-demand profession. Good on him for making $8k/month, though the same creds at my (engineering) company would probably pay $9k/mo.

Total_earnings = monthly_salary * number_of_months_worked. A teacher can expect to work until retirement, while a software engineer in San Diego is laid off every 2~5 years.
Don’t forget that the bennies aren’t too shabby.

Yeah, I’d say that some of our teachers are just a tad overpaid.
Has she been teaching for 25 years? That’s how long you have to teach in Corona-Norco USD to make over 90K/yr. Is she in a different district?
Nope. She hasn’t been teaching anywhere that long and I know that’s what she makes because she told me last T-day. I don’t know what school district she teaches in but I know she lives in Corona.
