ParticipantMaybe it’s just my bad experience(s) with generals… I would do the inpsection. How much have you paid – this is negligible compared to that – and worth it to help protect your investment.
It can also be useful, if you haven’t already done a punch list, to help generate the punch list.

ParticipantI second – yes it’s a few hundred dollars out of your back pocket, but think of it as cheap insurance on one of the largest purchases you will ever make. I have two siblings that have purchased new homes in south florida and each had very interesting issues with their houses within 6 months of closing
Find an inspector that is ASHI certified and has NO affiliation with the builder or any realtor whatsoever ! ( you want to make sure that they are working for YOU !!!)
