We found the big names wouldn’t insure ours also, but the smaller ones would. Rates depend on coverage, of course, but we’re about $1400/yr.
You may want to ask a realtor or escrow company…they will both have run into this problem a lot.

ParticipantFriends say Allstate was insuring when others weren’t….Then again, I heard allstate stopped offering homeowner’s insurance altogether in SD for new customers. Wouldn’t hurt to give them a call though.
