Hey Ladies – me four! I grew up in the Western burbs and then worked downtown until I was 28. Have you checked out Lefty’s in North Park – their pizza and Italian beef (not that I eat it often) is wonderful.

June 3, 2008 at 9:10 AM #215990dharmagirlParticipantI spent an entire summer slinging Italian Beef sandwiches (peppers and egg on Fridays) at a tiny place called Carm’s Beef (in Berwyn).
I havent been back to the area in a long time but was shocked to learn that Berwyn is now kind of cool. Apparently the folks who couldnt afford Oak Park realized that Berwyn was filled with craftsman bungalows that had gorgeous hardwood floors, built-ins, etc. If you’d told me that as a teenager I wouldnt have believed it.
Seattle, I’ll have to check out Lefty’s. I dont eat beef, but am always looking for good pizza. My favorite pizza in San Diego remains Bronx Pizza in Hillcrest.

June 3, 2008 at 9:16 AM #216078seattle-reloParticipantI know what you mean about Brewyn…pretty crazy.
I haven’t tried Bronx Pizza. The only negative about Lefty’s is that there really isn’t an area to dine in (there are just a couple of tables). Being that we are thin crust lovers, we have only tried their thin crust, however the deep dish looked pretty yummy.
