ParticipantFortunately not. My family's relatives were mostly from Taiwan, so they just need to worry about typhoons. My wife's side is predominately around Shanghai.
Makes one stop and think about how fragile the world really is. Losing money, bankruptcy, bad speculation, bad risk taking one thing. You can recover from that. Getting killed mother nature isn't exactly something you can control. Despite how fcked up the economy might people, there are always people in elsewhere that have it worse.
My sympathies to folks anyone who are directly or indirectly affected by this.

ParticipantMy sympathy also to anyone with friends or relatives affected by the earthquake. Most of my family is in Hong Kong or Shanghai and everyone I know is safe.
