I saw a post on Jim Klinge’s bubbleinfo.com sight that 6450 Dwane has become a vacation rental at $1750 a week. Any other Del Cerro homes being rented to vacationers? In my opinion I think it’s a good way to pay the mortgage. I wonder if they will keep this home on the market now that they are renting it?

July 9, 2008 at 9:48 AM #235895poway_sellerParticipantIs it kind of strange that not a SINGLE new listing has come up in Del Cerro above $700,000 lately. Absolutely nothing up on the hill has come up. The entire area’s inventory is just shrinking. I think this speaks volumes of the stability of that area. Most owners are long time residents, and just don’t seem to be in the market to sell.
There is however LOTS of activity all over the hill with remodels of various scale.
Is this a stand-off with buyers hoping for prices to come down, or will they soon realize that to live on the hill you have to pay asking? (except in MMM)

I agree, very low inventory, but when I look back over last 5 years it does seems to run like that; there will be a variety to choose from, then nada for a while. I agree very low inventory for summer.
We are almost retired and were thinking of putting ours ( on top of hill, but certaintly in the less than $ 1.0 M class ) up for sale this spring / summer and renting, Then we see everything has sold. Not sure what to do especially we have all sorts of stuff to get rid of to downsize. So guess what; we are spending some $$ to upgrade yard, recover patio furniture, and make minor exterior upgrades ( inside all done already ).
Just don’t know whether to put on market or wait for a while????
