So I just got back from a run around Miramar Lake and stopped by ShareTea in Mira Mesa. Oh my god, the line was all around the building. So I left and went to MeetFresh and same thing. I looked around lines everywhere for food and drinks at several Asian eatery.
At least from what I see in MM, I think many of these food places will probably recover ok
Wineries packed in temecula.
Masks? Naaah.
2nd wave is gonna be big.June 7, 2020 at 8:21 AM #818036CoronitaParticipantYeah, I would be surprised if we don’t have a reinfection. No one gives a shit anymore. Not at restaurants, not outdoors, not at protests.
This lockdown thing was the stupidest thing. Americans have proven they are incapable of doing the simplest basic things if it can increase the chances of reducing infection. Trump and anti-mask people don’t take it seriously. Protestors don’t take the social distancing and mask seriously, and our businesses want to reopen quickly too. Everyone is bending the rules and making this own shit up to try give themselves an excuse why they shouldn’t be doing the basic things in the spirit of what our health officials are saying.
Just open everything up and let darwin survival of the fittest and evolution run its course. Send all the healthcare workers home so they can rest.
June 7, 2020 at 8:28 AM #818037The-ShovelerParticipantIMO it would have worked much better with less drastic measures from the beginning.
The Lock-down IMO was a very stupid thing to do in the USA, I don’t see it happening again no matter how things go.

My doctor wife says everyone talks big till they have trouble breathing.
She guarantees me everyones bravado disappears in the e.r. when youre suffocating. Esp if your in the hallway not being seen for 12 hours
Hopefully thats not me.
Or you.
But for karmic purposes, whatever your opinion, proceed with humility. 40 perc of america over age 20 is obese. Things could get bad real fast cause half tge country or more is high risk
Personally, im going to try not to get sick. And hope theres medical help if i need it.

If just a little more of the country gets a little dumber, trump wins in the fall.
I like my mask
Its soft, has a filter, and provides facial sun protection.
I might wear it anyway, i hate sunscreen.
Does fog my glasses a littleJune 7, 2020 at 12:27 PM #818053FlyerInHiGuestHaha. And before, people were making fun of Korean ladies with their masks and face shields.

It was stupid not because of a scientific basis, but because we were incompetent in managing the lockdown.
Objectively, the lockdown was not quite in vain, but almost, and very costly.June 7, 2020 at 12:48 PM #818055CoronitaParticipantHomemade mask doesn’t do shit for aerosal. If you just wear a homemade mask, you can still smell just about everything that passes through. N95 is better but only if you wear it correctly, and there is a tight seal between it and your face. Most people don’t put on a mask correctly, so the effectiveness goes way down. The only masks that are really effective are the P100 masks. But those masks, besides the need to put them on correctly, have a valve. So while it offers superior protection for yourself, doesn’t do shit for the person next to you because the way the valve works, it closes fully when you breath in but opens fully when you breathe out. It’s designed to protect the wearer and make it comfortable to breathe, but that’s bad news for everyone else because water droplets/etc from you is going right into the air unfiltered. I wear these respirators all the time for painting and I feel much safer that St least with paint, you aren’t wearing things correctly you can tell right away…because you can smell the fumes right away. So I had plenty of time to practice wearing a respirator correctly. I guarantee most people,.even if they have the proper PPE, probably aren’t puting it on correctly to be effective. that’s why social distancing and remaining at home remains key.
That’s why a lot of these protestors are fucking stupid. They keep saying we will keep at 6 feet away as if 6 feet is a magic number for guaranteeing you won’t catch something from a stranger next to you. That 6 feet has a lot of assumptions. for example you aren’t stand next to someone for a very long time, there isn’t any wind that could carry aerosol particles for a distance, etc. Morons, absolute morons. Darwin in practice.

I believe it will lower my dosage when o got it, even a lame mask
June 7, 2020 at 4:33 PM #818066CoronitaParticipantim not saying you shouldn’t wear a mask. Afterall, even homemade ones do stop some water droplets. But people automatically assume once they wear a mask and maintain 6 ft that they can’t catch this. And they now act like this. Pretty sure we will see an uptick in infection.
Even though I have a few P100 respirators, I won’t wear them outside because if I did people would probably yell at me saying you should donate those to healthcare workers. Healthcare workers can’t wear these because they can’t wear masks with a valve on it, otherwise they significantly increase the risk of spreading the virus to their coworkers.
And some places like SF have a law that bans people from wearing masks/respirators with a valve. You can easily find P100 masks, Grainger.com sells them. and you can do curb side pickup in Convoy. I just ordered two MSI ones for $20 each as backups for the 3M one I normally use.
The replacement cartridges are now available at Grainger and Amazon too.For outside, I just wear a N95 with cloth over it, except when I run. Then I try to avoid people and keep at least 10-12 feet away. Even then, every time I go outside where there are people there is still chance of catching something. The risk is low, when you pass someone running, but it is most likely non zero.
I wouldn’t want to stay indoors for an extended period of time. No way in hell I will see a dentist until at least early next year.
June 9, 2020 at 11:52 AM #818136CoronitaParticipantMore about people leaving high density housing in the city and moving to larger places in the suburbs . Good news for homes in the burbs. Bad news for homes in the cities.
I guess I’ll be able to crow when I buy a place at the bottom.
The expensive cities will get affected.https://www.sfgate.com/living-in-sf/article/Wealthy-buyers-in-mad-rush-to-leave-SF-15324574.php
June 10, 2020 at 9:57 AM #818166FlyerInHiGuestInterestingly, the stock market recovery due to Fed action may dampen the appetite for further stimulus. And that may deepen and lengthen the recession. We shall see…..
June 15, 2020 at 11:36 AM #818276CoronitaParticipantMore evidence flight from city to suburbs is in full swing (at least for the ones that can afford to leave).
