I don’t know guys, but frankly I think this cop and his wife are morons. I mean, he could be living rent free right now in a nice home. All he had to do is wait for moratorium after moratorium…..

The law should be applied fairly to everyone.
But it’s not.
Talk to any prosecutor. The crime is the crime and comparing to a hypothetical is no defense.
Not all speeders get stopped and fined. Some speeders are stopped so that they can be made examples and so that other drivers don’t speed.
If we can make an example of the guy who doesn’t pay his firefighting fee (by letting his house burn down) then why shouldn’t this cop be made an example of?
Many in law enforcement would argue that a high profile “catch” is great law enforcement and good deterrence against future crime.
Oh my god, Brian and I agree on something? WTF is going on here??? π

FLU: Take a deep breath, dude. Now, let it out. It happened to me, too. Relax. It had to happen eventually. Remember the Law of Big Numbers. Or, the old saw about if enough monkeys jump on enough typewriters, eventually you’ll get the Encyclopedia Britannica.
Now, if it happens more than once…
