Agreed. But I’d rather see the existing libraries operating and functioning, rather than build a new one and cut all the hours on all of them. And cut more city services and paycuts.
But again, if they are bent on spending money they don’t have, and the choices are library or Chargers, then let it be for a library.
But knowing how screwed up this City is, I bet they do both. I guess if we’re going to go down, then do it all the way.

My understanding is they have already raised 10m to run the building for the first 5 years. Problem is, they need another 30+million to finish the inside of the building. They have until 2012 to raise the money.
After 5 years I am sure it is on the city to keep it running.
