Change in MLS? – Piggington's Econo-Almanac

In today’s Short Sale Monitor posting, sdrealtor indicated that their MLS system changed. Did the ENTIRE MLS system change by any chance?

I use ZipRealty to search for homes (and use a saved search). This weekend, I noticed the amount of homes for sale went way up (that meet my search criteria). But then I noticed that they were old (some very old) listings, not new ones. So I’m wondering if the MLS system changed?

Also, do the free online tools such as ZipRealty, RedFin and the like show all homes on the MLS, or do they only show a few?
