Scarlett, sorry about the name confusion, that’s the first time I have ever seen another Scarlet on a forum.
Oh, and sorry I was mean to some of the people you like.
On your thread: Absolutely laughable. My god, are you people not paying attention to what’s going on in the world? San Diego must be an island, huh? $400k or $500k for a town-house will be so very ridiculed in 2010 and more so after that. Really though, that’s a good laugh. And all the folks making posts pretending to have some sort of relevant information regarding a glorified condo priced at half a million… Lambs to the slaughter.
Save yourself Scarlett…..keep waiting.

March 1, 2009 at 9:09 PM #358156newcomerParticipantSaw some comments on Andalucía – we rent there a couple of years ago. We love everything except for its price.
We never had any problem in parking. Every unit has its own two-car garage. For the newer townhome complex (built in 2002 or 2003), I guess you could not find more roomy garage. There are about 40~50 visitor parking lots if my memory serves me right. When they’re available, why would you have to park in your garage and not make more storage room for yourselves? There were also plenty of spaces available in CV middle school for overnight parking. We parked there one night or two during our one year leasing period.
The one we loved the most is its sound isolation. My kids made lot of noises when they learned to play piano and violin, but my next door neighbors did not even know it when we moved out. We were told there are actually two separate walls between you and your neighbor. The only negative thing we heard (from our landlord) was the home association officer charged over 5K telephone bill to HOA. Not sure if it’s common practice in the area. I guess they have too much home association funds to spendMarch 1, 2009 at 9:09 PM #358457newcomerParticipantSaw some comments on Andalucía – we rent there a couple of years ago. But we are actually paying attention. I am not sure what’s laughable about it. We were discussing various complexes in CV, their current prices, trying to predict the bottom, and as you could see, I am not planing to buy until next year at the earliest. Maybe 2011 or 2012.And nobody was saying to buy now. Just informing about current properties on the market. The bottom is not here yet, in CV at least, that’s very clear.
I think your timing is a bit off. I don’t think the prices in CV will be droppping *THAT* fast. They may reach 400K for nice townhomes, but not in 1 year. The reality is the largest townhomes in CV are indeed NOW close to 600K. So I predict that in 2010 they will be ~500K. A 15-20% decline at best. Then upper 400K-500K would be a reality, not (yet!) ridiculed. Maybe they will drop further and by 2011 they will be 400K. But maybe by then the economy recovers and the largest townhomes in CV will never see 400K prices, who knows.
Personally, I hope to see starter SFH homes in the low to mid 500K by 2011 in CV… I don’t have a crystal ball, that’s just my hope….
Definitely I will wait and see…
Cheers,
