Guys, one thing. Ya gotta remember, I’ve been driving clunky GM and Ford SUV’s for 20 years. Anything is gonna be fun for me. I dont need to super twin turbo Z4 maxed out. I dont need to blow away people at stop lights. It’s for ME and beating others or looking good for others doesnt mean a thing to me. Frankly, proper iPod integration is probably more important to me that a twin turbo 300hp engine.
Don’t take this the wrong way but I always wondered what it was with Asian guys and their fascination with driving the fastest foreign sports car around?
Almost every car on the market today has proper iPod integration. If that’s your definition of luxury, then you should also know BMW doesn’t have touch screen nav while the 370Z and G37 both have touch screen. Once you’ve gone touch screen, you’ll wonder why everyone else isn’t implementing touch screen too. Also, w/ the 370Z/G37, you can leave the keys in your pocket and still use the start button and opening the door, the BMW, you’d need to stick the key into its slot before you can start the car using the start button. Japanese cars has always been way ahead of the German in term of technology.
I can’t speak for the other Asian guys, but I personally like to track my car. I’ve only done it once, but I’d like to do it more when I have the time/$. It’s not about showing off or beating the next guy at the light. It’s about my personal enjoyment. It’s about being able to take the turn fast without feeling like the car will flip over.May 21, 2009 at 10:26 AM #404001anParticipant
Guys, one thing. If were to get a roadster: Lotus Elise.
Kinda unique, probably pretty fun, sort of environ friendly, and not something you would lug around your clients in. Plus, not nearly as many BMW buying types on the label alone driving the same thing. After warranty, just raid the toyota parts bin since the engine is sourced from there π
For you, the Base model would is well under $60k. ($48k I think)

(Please don’t choose the orange color or the neon green)

I would personally pick the Elise too, but he did mentioned luxury in his criteria. I actually was considering the Elise before buying my G35. Mainly because of the luxury and back seats.May 21, 2009 at 10:28 AM #404005anParticipant
